Slacker...and the rest of our trip...

I am a slacker. I must also be a very mean person to leave you hanging like this. You don't know what the cheese tasting was like!

OUR GLORIOUS WEEK IN NEW HAMPSHIRE, PARTS 2 AND 3

The day after Boston we woke up ready to be serious tourists. We even got to have Little Sister with us today! Small children (despite what everyone else says) make me really excited for my own baby girl. And yes, she's a girl. We're for sure about that now. :)
Our first stop was the Joseph Smith birthplace memorial. We drove up into Sharon, Vermont and wound our way along the fun roads. We also got to see the original highway that went to Canada and a nice 300 year old stone bridge.
We like to walk on history. It makes it feel more...real. :)

And this next picture is Kiki comforting a sad Claire. She obeyed gravity and fell off the fence.
We looked at the foundations of Samuel Mack's house and Daniel Mack's house. That was cool too. Then we drove back up to the actual monument. It was so very beautiful. We stepped out of the car and we heard the incredible voices of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir coming through nearby speakers. It was a very calming, spiritual experience for me.
This monument is over one hundred years old. The solid granite obelisk at the top is 38 and a half feet tall, because that was Joseph Smith's age when he was martyred in the Carthage Jail. They carved this entire piece and hauled it up to the hill (it's quite the hill, let me tell you) with horses. In December. It's a miracle that this monument was ever even completed.
Next stop? Tasting cheese at the Sugarbush Farm. We didn't take many pictures because we were eating cheese. And spending money. :) I've never tasted such variety before. And oh, it was divine! We definitely brought a lot of cheese home.
"Fra-geel-ay. ...Must be Italian!"

The next day was a Saturday so we got to enjoy the entire Tyler family! We hiked to Boston Lot Lake and Kiki got three ticks. Ew.
Gorgeous lake!
This was a little while before Claire fell into the lake...

...and this was afterward. She walked around for a while in her daddy's shirt while her clothes and undies dried.
Sydney enjoyed the lake too! Nice tasty rocks. :)
It was such a relaxing Saturday!

We are so grateful to Missy and Lyndon! We have the best family in the world. They were so very kind to us. This really was the best vacation ever!!! We didn't take any more pictures because we were having too much fun.

And I've fallen in love with New Hampshire. Don't tell Utah.
